Yup I brought up that contract as an example. Same s**t with Hill's first deal. Last yr his cap hit is $50M which pushed his APY to $30M. It was literally a void yr and there just for that purpose.

I'm telling ya they get you one way or the other.

Yes they do! I lived in Dallas for five years. Property taxes are insane in Texas. They also charge for driving on the highways cause they're privately owned (a lot of them). Cost my coworker $10 a day to just drive to work cause the tolls. Only other option was to take side streets and that would take hours instead of 20 minutes.

in Cali, the property tax bill is capped at 1% of your homes value annually. Peoples revolted in the 70s cause they were getting taxed out of their homes.

Funny you mention that.....my father was the Tax Assessor in Arlington....

The median property tax on a home in Texas is 2k with Dallas county being 3k-ish. (2.3%)

I would think to the average person they would pay a lower tax bill in Texas, only because home costs are outrageous in Cali...even at 1% the home prices are nuts....I think I saw the average home price there was north of 700k...I would imagine that would put the average tax at 7k a year.

And to finish the trifecta....The highest property tax in Florida is 1.02 in dade (miami)

Also something to consider is state taxes. If looking at it correctly PA only gets taxed 3% on income compared to 13% in CA ???

When your talking 26 mill from SF vs 28 mill from Pitt its a lot more than that 2 million due to taxes.

Players also get taxed based on where they play that week, not where their home team is (unless it's a home game).

Interesting i didnt know that

this isn't a great example cause it doesn't necessarily highlight an away game but under state, you can see the other state line items.

think of it like an artist being based out of Cali but has a concert in New York - you earned that income in New York. So you're required to pay taxes.

when I travel for work, like Cali, if I'm there for a week or so - I have to file income taxes for Cali that week. It's annoying

49.3% of his year was working for the government. You'd think Arik would lead a tax revolt somewhere.

Game check taxes are based on where the game is played not the team you are on.

$700k? How about this pretty little number for $1m. It's a beauty. Property taxes at about 1.1% will be around $11k a year plust a rip off insurance scam across the state.

That is crazy for that little house. However you chose just about the most expensive place to live in the state

And in Houston over 3%.. As stated before they get you somehow regardless of state tax. Also the pay is relative to the cost of living (to a degree)
HA

At the end of the day trading this guy makes no sense for either party. Aiyuk has so much earning potential outside of his NFL paycheck when playing for a team that is constantly in the hunt for the lombardi than he does playing in Pit with 2 subpar Qbs. The Niners need him to keep in that hunt. I feel like something will get done and we will get back to business as usual.

Not saying he's going to out there walking routes and missing blocks on purpose, but I don't think his heart will be fully in it.

I don't think he would even play. There would be a "nagging injury" that would keep him out al year.

If he were to do that, he'd still owe the team another year. He doesn't have to accrued time to pull that and be a free agent after.

Well well well

Makes all the sense in the world. And yet another L for the overly online crowd.
